SOS! Easy way to replace vector artwork for a character?

Hello,

I have just finished animating a series of 13 (not so big) scenes of the same character (layer, bones, eyes, eyebrows, lipsynch, & point animation are ready), but now it turns out that I need to change the look of this character's face and mouth.

The new character is ready, but I have no clues on how to replace the old vector layers with the new ones without having to reanimate, or how to copy the old keyframes into the new character successfully.

Have already tried copying keyframes from one file to another, and even from one layer to another with no luck.

Is there a way to export keyframe information to reconstruct the animation with the new character.

Can someone save my life please?! ;)

I use AS Pro 6.5 on an Intel iMac.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Erick

You don't even have to touch the keyframes.

Create new vector layers for the new artwork. Create the artwork, exactly in the same size and position as the old artwork in frame #0. Bind those layers the same way to the same bones as the original artwork. Set the old layers to invisible. If you did everything correctly, you'll have your old movements with the new artwork. Only the point motion parts you'll have to redo.

Wow. I didn't expect it to work flawlessly from my very short explanation from yesterday night, when I was totally tired ...

Seeing forward to see the result!

Yes it did! Actually I had rotated some objects in the new character, for example the eyebrows, and had to reposition them so they could "fit" correctly.

This is a very simple Flash trainer for kindergarten kids to learn how to use Likert scales, for academic research purposes.

I'll post a link after it's ready and approved.

Danke schön!
