Why can't we all just get along?

This is about the most obscure sub forum I could find -- I really wish there were one that no one visited (or much) because I don't want this to in any way interfere with the real meat of the excitement over AS 6. Consider this a tiny little out of the way plea for a truce among warring parties.
I'm starting this because I just received five PMs from various folks who I had never heard from before (and some I never even knew were on this forum -- nothing wrong with lurkers, I lurk on many forums myself) congratulating me on my "stand" and telling me how much they support me. This actually horrifies me a little -- I don't mind being the cranky old man, but I in no way intend to create division on my favorite forum (even including the ones I admin myself :>).
I know that some mod types around here are getting mail on the other side but it didn't bother me half as much that folks would rally around Mike and SM -- that's how it should be. But, please, while I do appreciate that I'm not alone in what I'm saying, let's be clear on exactly what that is.
First of all, I take back any bad things I have ever said about Mike or Smith Micro. As the line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail goes, let's not quibble about who killed who. I don't care what happened in the past whatsoever and while none of this is about me I would hope that Mike and Co. can at least pretend the same.
Second, can we all agree that all of this, every single thing that has happened here, is because we love AS so much. Heck, if we didn't care we wouldn't get mad, right? We ALL want what's best for it, and really the only disagreement it what that might be. I can't see anyone arguing with that.
Third, I also think we could agree that AS 6 is a truly wonderful thing -- it's not perfect, but then what is? I'm really really happy I'll have it (uh, soon?) and there are at least three things in it that will make my life much easier (and not the things you think). I wrote elsewhere but I do believe this: Mike did what few programmers can do in any new release, and that's put in something for everyone.
I'm also really really sorry that I feel a need to point out my experience in life here -- I shouldn't, but I've also been told point blank that I don't know what I'm talking about at times and that's patently not true. But I won't mention it again unless someone challenges me again.
From here on out I'm only going to point out things in AS 6 Pro that don't work as advertised. I won't express any wishes for future releases (probably never but we'll see how long I can hold out -- I DO have lots of confederates who are willing to advance my agenda :>). I plan on spending lots of time programming things which I need and others might find useful.
I produce a half-hour weekly animated series with AS -- I work with it six hours a day and I can't speak for others but I doubt whether there's many people who use it more. It's the center of my life and has been for over a year now. If there is anything, absolutely anything I can do to help Mike and Co. I would do it in a heartbeat -- all they have to do is ask.
