So I'm very new to this software. I bought Anime Studio Debut. I have created this animal face but I have split everything between different vector layers. Is there a way to merge the layers? And does anyone know where I can find information on what types of layers are best for certain situations?

You could put all those layers into a group layer.
Read the tutorial of the sorftware, that could help you.

Maybe you want all the vector layers shapes to be in a single vector layer. Copy and paste each shape from each vector layer to a single vector layer. It will work if all the vector layers already have the same scale and share the same origin (usually 0,0).
