I just cracked the cover on Hayao Miyazaki's Starting Point 1979-1996. I've already found plenty of practical information. Recently I also checked The Disney Villain, Johnston & Thomas, out of the library. So far, these works seem to dovetail nicely. The Johnston & Thomas books contain a large amount of entertaining history. Miyazaki is out to instruct more than reminisce. His volume of output will also make most of us feel like lazy punks (sigh). Both works are great for character development.
