Make a smooth transition

I'm a Noob in this program, but trying to work it out and use the figures that's supplied with the program. At the moment I want Rachel to walk from one end af the the screen to the other and back. that's work fine except the turning where I use the front view of rachel in 2 frames and the change is very abrupt. is there a way to make the 2 layers to dissolve into each other?

Animated layer opacity - that's creating dissolves.

I'd maybe just flip the layer instead of showing a front view first.
So she's walking right, then BAM she's suddenly facing the left.
Try it. Maybe you don't even need that front view inbetween when she's turning.

That was my first attempt, I just miss that smooth turning that's natural when we walk.

The opacity create more of a fade out than a dissolve. booth layers should keep their "power" (don't know a more correct word for it) like a morph or something like that.

do a forum search under 'head turns' or just 'turns.'
The ideal that you are looking for is no easy.
You could try copying the character and using the magnet to 'pull' it around to approximate the 'turned' position then use morphing to transit between the two. This is pretty rough without individual point control.
I would mostly go with mikdog's take. You could add some blur or an intermediary frame (or two) but if it is a full body turn... difficult to do realistically.
