Hey all,
I'm having a problem exporting my as file. I am doing an animation for mpls.tv, everything is all animated, and I have done some test exports and put them on youtube, so everything was fine at one point. But, then when I exported it uncompressed to avi for the final copy, it says that media player wont play the file which is annoying since it took almost a day to render. Since then I have tried different compressions and now nothing works. I have tried repairing/ redownloading the codecs, but no luck. When I was testing I used the NTSC D1 Widescreen Dimensions, and Exporting using the VP60 simple profile on only good quality, that doesn't even work now, plus I will need Best Quality when all is said and done, preferably uncompressed.
Help Please, or I might miss my deadline!!

I'm not a professional animator, but it seems most pros export from AS as png sequences to something like After Effects, where all the images are composited and then finally output. Hope this helps...

AVI is known for producing immensely huge files, so maybe it's just a matter of not creating a file which is too big for playback, or too big for the available free space on the drive.

Most people seem to use Quicktime instead of AVI. Exporting as a sequence oof PNG images is a very good options since most video editing software accepts it for import. Try first with just a short sequence of half a second.

You didn't mention any dimensions of your project. Do you have to deliver in a bigger format than NTSC?

Could you possibly test the export on another machine? It's possible that your stystem installation with the codecs is faulty.

When I exported it with quicktime it worked just fine. The problem seems to be with WMP, it won't even let me play music, but that's a completely different forum. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you 2 for your help.
