Hi to everyone

I have a simple question. How to make frame by frame animation?
Say i wont to make an hand animation that changes from open to close, say, for example 5 Frames long. It seems to me that is it not possible to make it directly in the timeline like in other Programms like Flash or Toon Boom, say frame 1 picture 1, then draw the new hand (halfclose) in frame 2 as a new Keyframe, the hand 3/4 close draw in frame 3 as another new Keyframe etc. etc.
How would you make it, with Switch layer maybe?

Thanks for all helps

so wich is the best way to work with switch layer, i meen, when working directly in the timeline you can activate the onionskin. is there a similar way in the switch layer to see the layer below? When working in switch layer only the active layer is visible, is that right?

Unfortunately, you can't use onion skins with switch layers. But if you want to do a lot of frame by frame animation, you are using the wrong application. AS is designed with other things in mind...

No, i dont want to make a lot of frame by frame, only want to animate parts of a charakter like Hands (different Handpositions), Charakterposition in general like front turn to 3/4 side etc. etc.

OK, that sounds practical.

Tip: to use onionskinning, create your hand positions in one layer, then multiply this layer and erase everything not needed in the separate layers. This way you also can use interpolation while switching.
