Export Animation Crash - ASP 6.1

Whenever I try exporting the animation to an avi file ASP 6.1 crashes. First I get to name the file and select a destination folder. I'm not shown the codecs screen or any option.
Quicktime exports fine, if only I could get the sound to work.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 w/ 4GB of RAM.
ASP 5.6 works fine.
Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem?
