Putting this up as a near completed test... possibly scene 1 of a bigger picture tho something's not right or I may just have my head up my ass.

Like it! Definitely an individual style.

OK, how to improve it? I think I'd like to have a bit more dynamics in the movements. Right now I feel as if everything is going at the same pace, and without pauses. Maybe you could speed up some parts, while having a real rest at other moments. I like the jerkiness, it fits the style. The whole scene could be shorter, but this depends on the length of the whole project.

Of course the background is missing, I assume you're working on it. The style is very much American Underground Comic of the 80's/90's (RAW, Gary Panther, KAZ, Charles Burns), so I'd like to see everything done in a drawing fashion, without any lighting/shading tricks or 3D attemps or blur (other than the drop shadow of the moving parts).

If you keep on, it could be as good or even better than the stuff from Liquid Television!

It's good. I have no audio here, so I can't talk about that. But at least animation looks pretty good.
Did you use lock bones for feet?
(I always recommend them)

slowtiger... thanks. uncertain about the background.. actually thought I may leave it but I know what you're saying.. getting the right style seems to to me to be looking for the holy grail! Have been trying to choose between hand drawn and vector for the past 5 years..! And I'm quite a fan of Postgate so wanted to keep it close to that...

selgin... again thanks, shame you have no audio.. my first real go at logic express. I didn't lock bones for the feet 'cause the legs kept going WEIRD. Back to front 'n' stuff. I have used it to some degree of sucess but not for this.

Hello Christopher,

Really like the character design and animation ... they compliment each other well. I watched it the first few times without sound. The dynamics of the scene, and the expressive character animation gave it a good read even without audio. And yes, I like the name you settled on ... "dog like way" ... not quite sure what you're going for there, but it intrigues me and makes me want to follow and see where it does end up. Also visited your site and got a kick out of your character sheet with other characters from the series / animation: "these people are here to help"

lol !

They sure are Christopher ... they sure are.

cheers robj, I'm rather fickle so it's great when someone answers, especially in the positive (although 'constructive criticism' is important too). I am working on an opening music/sequence at the moment which may give more of an idea where it goes so look out for that.. glad you like it!

i really enjoyed this...the style is unique in a great way...not like when a mother tells her child "it's ok...you're uh..unique" lol

I agree that the background could use more. Overall, i want to see more!
