I've seen some reviews about the pads but one of the main problems people say is that they do not work with all programs, does it work with Anime Studio?

Wacom works fine with anime studio. You can draw using pen pressure and everything works fine.
I'm sure if you get a wacom you wouldn't be able to back to use mouse again.

Anyway, just as an advice. Wacom are cool by themselves, the way you work specifically on AS doesn't change too much, I mean, it's fantastic because you have a pen and not a plastic ball in the hand and that is works for any graphical software.

My Wacom came with a disk. It works OK with windows, but install the Wacom drivers because under Control Panel you get 'Wacom Tablet Properties' where you can assign each button and slider for each program.

If I'm drawing I put a piece of paper between the pad and pen. The plastic sliding on plastic doesn't feel right. Most of the time I'm doing other things with it so I don't used the paper.

I use a Wacom tablet with almost every program on my Mac. It works great with ASPro. I also dont' like the feel of the plastic when I'm drawing - it's just too slippery. So I taped a piece of drafting mylar over it. It's got a slightly rough surface and feels much more natural, gives me more control.

I love my Wacom tablet.

I run it with a Wacom Bamboo Pen, works like a charm, pressure sensitive and all!

I will mention a problem I had with the Bamboo Pen recently. The cursor jittered constantly, to such a degree that it was impossible to draw with it. I tweaked settings and updated drivers, but to no avail.

Finally, on a tablet forum, I found out that on some Wacom tablets jittery cursors are caused by RFI from monitors, radio towers, power lines, etc. I tried moving to different rooms, but the jittery cursor remained, although the severity varied.

I never did solve the problem, so I ended up returning the Bamboo. The odd thing is I own a Graphire tablet and have no problems with it at all.

Wacoms are top notch products, but this was one of those things that ended up being a showstopper.

this happens to me. All i did was take out the nib and put it back in every month, and everything all right

Weird, works perfect here, i have 2 Samsung 2443 monitor here!

Is your monitor lcd or crt, might make a difference.

Heh, it was brand new so that didn't occur to me.

I do live near power lines AND a radio tower, so that could've been the cause. I considered moving, but decided I like where I live.

No problem, my graphire and mouse work fine.
