Shape exporting?

Is it possible to export shapes to a file or make it available to other applications using copy/paste? I really like the drawing behavior/tools of Anime Studio (Pro 6) but am trying to do stuff for print using Adobe Illustrator (CS4). Ideally, I'll like to move vector shapes freely between Illustrator/Flash/AS.
I understand the way AS shapes are handled are unique so I know that some parameters would be lost, but maybe a stroke/shape could be exported as the stroke and shape as separate (layered) objects. And this would pretty much be a one way (copy out) process. But it would be nice to be able to paste shapes from Flash/AI right into AS instead of having to save/export and then import AI/EPS files.
