Auto welding problem with AS 6 ?

Hi, there. Today I decided to finally upgrade to Anime 6 pro. I'm pretty happy I did although there is one beef I have and I'm hoping someone could help me with it.
In part 5 whenever you used the auto weld it connected points directly to the end of the open ended point. However, it seems in part 6 when I pick up where I left off with my sketch it does not weld directly to the end of the point, but rather connects down the line. The result being when I go to create shape you get the familiar red lines which indicate its not whole.
So then I have to go back and individually use my spacebar to connect the points one by one and finally it will be whole. This is very frustrating to me and takes more time then it needs too. Is there a way to adjust the accuracy? I don't understand why it differs from part 5 where the free hand and autoweld worked really well.
