I did an auto lip sync and it looks fine in the workspace. When I export to Quicktime, the switch movements lag the audio. Please advice.

How much is the lag? A few frames, or more than a few frames (eg. seconds?)

Keep in mind that workspace preview isn't entirely accurate and a lot of factors and change its timing (preview settings, image complexity). To get a more accurate preview of the timing of your animation in the workspace, try turning on "Allow Frame Skipping" in the Animation menu.

If the lag is only 1-3 frames -- barely noticeable but somehow "wrong" -- then you may just need to drag your lip sync keyframes forward a few frames...aural perception is sort of unpredictable and sometimes needs tweaking. Some sound elements sound better when they slightly preceed or follow the visual elements.

But if the lag is bigger, then something must be wrong...I don't know what.

It's just a few frames (less than a second). I'll drag it over. The lag didn't happen on other lip syncs in same cartoon (even by same character). Thanks for the help!

The Richard Williams book that so many people recommend ("The Animator's Survival Guide") mentions several situations when visuals should precede or follow audio...it's fascinating! I don't have it with me, but he talks about animation directors insisting that animators do all their lip sync visuals three frames ahead of the audio, but sometimes a perfect sync is necessary instead.

The lip sync works well but as the final export gets longer, the motion is delayed more and more. I can try to skew the keyframes but it's really tedious and it works perfectly at the beginning of the project. Please help. Also, I'm trying to export just a part of the movie (towards end where I'm trying to manually line up lip sync) but audio doesn't come through on a partial export. Thanks!
