Project settings: dimensions

Hello,
I'm new here.
I'm about to start a new project and I'm not sure which dimensions to use.
In the end, I want my project to be displayed on the web as well as on a tv screen.
For maximum flexibility, which dimensions should I start with?
Once my project is completed, how do I convert it to another medium by changing the dimensions?
Thanks,
P.S.: This is a great forum. Thanks to all contributors as it's been helping me understand the subtleties of Anime Studio...

I would look at how i would edit the animation in a movie maker and use the same ratio from start to final upload. If u plan on using wide screen in you editor use that ratio in AS. If u plan on a 4x3 or a 16x9 or any other in your editor i suggest that u use the same in AS.
I hate squashed toons
I use a 788x443 in AS and i use wide screen in my movie editor.

I recommend you HD. Youtube support it and new TVs too.

Yes kinda what i was saying, Keep the ratio the same from AS to post editing to upload. The reason i use 788x443 is i still use debut and i cant get HD via AS but i do upload HD via a script i added to my movie maker.
It boils down to the less u alter it the better its going to be, If u use a 16x9 in AS use a wide screen when u upload, If u use 4x3 in AS use 4x3 in you upload.
I guess what i mean is, what ever dimensions u do you final render in is what you should use in post production and uploads

Thanks for the quick response.
I will go with HD (1920 x 1080) then.
I guess it's easier to have a big project and shrink it in the end if necessary, then the other way around.
I don't know much about video editing, I guess I will have to dive into that once my project is complete.

I start off with 640x360 (24fps or 30fps) which is 16x9. You can the easily export that for the web. Then when you want HD, just change the resolution to 1920x1080 (NTSC) or what ever PAL uses.
I prefer 30fps, as it's exactly half of the refresh rate of most lcd monitor/tv. Just seems to look more fluid, movement wise. For a few reasons. And you can always lower the fps in any video editor if needed.
