Actions in the library?

Hi all, I've been away from Animating for a few weeks now I'm back and trying to get caught up. FYI: I'm replicating a stop-motion look using .PNG files in swap layers.

I've created folders and sub-folders for the various files associated with an item or character, I've then copied those folders into the library. Using the files in those folders exclusively, my projects should all stay intact and be transportable from one computer to another. (for a helper for instance)

This brings us to Actions. If I create actions for a character, do those actions reside in the folder where I save the project file? I've been saving the project files in the Library in a top folder, the associated content in a sub-folder. Are the Actions included in the top folder? Are they part of the character now? Inquiring minds would love to know . .

Actions are saved in the project file they were created in. More specifically, they're saved with the layer(s) that has those actions.

Anime Studio project files are mostly self-contained. All the keyframes, layers, actions, etc. are all in one file. When you import a new object, its keyframes/actions/etc. get copied into the working file. The only exception is for media files: images, audio, movies, 3D models. Otherwise, a project is always contained in a single file.

Thanks. I'm still experimenting with layers and I'm sure it will become apparent to me.

Regarding media files: the project file refers to the folders where they reside, if the folder's moved or renamed you get a 'broken link' symbol and there's no obvious way to 'point' to replacement files in another location.

What I am doing is keeping my media files in the same folder as the project file. I know eventually I'll have a huge amount of files in the library which is unfortunately dictated to be on my 'C:' drive in the windows/programs/smithmicro directory.

I'd like to have my various external folders linked to, and usable as part of the library.
