No more Updates for 6?

I just came back to the forums after a lengthy absence and I see that a new version has been released. Does this mean there will be no more updates for version 6?
Because there are still plenty of bugs that could be fixed.
Also I agree with some other posters that the price to upgrade for those who have 6 seems a bit steep. Just my opinion, but I can't afford it right now.
I guess I'll wait and see what happens.
