please help. Problem importing AVI

Hello,
I just created a render with autodesks 3ds Max with the following details:
-uncompressed AVI
-about 1170 frames
-at 30 FPS
-in 640 x 480 resolution
I want to import this avi into anime studio to add text overlays and such...
The problem is when I import the movie it only plays for (approximately) the first 700 frames and then suddenly stops
This is really puzzling me, can someone help!
I already tried matching the fps to 30 in project settings and also changed the end frame number to 2000 to be safe.
Help is much appreciated!!
