Old School vs New School

Me and my friend are having sort of a debate on which cartoons are better the old school or the new school. I'm in defense of the old school stuff like Looney Tunes, etc. My friend is in defense of, obviously, the new stuff like the stuff on cartoon network. Does anybody have a different opinion on this topic, what makes one better then the other?
