I imported a *.mp3 audio file into AS Pro 6. The sound plays back fine when in AS6, but when I export my *.mov video, there is no sound. There is not even a volume slider on the QuickTime menu where there normally is. That leads me to believe there simply is no sound, and it isn't just a matter of the sound being too quiet.

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I found a few threads where other users had this problem with *.swf exports. The resolution was to copy the *.mp3 into the same directory as the other files. I tried this but still no dice.

Exporting *.mov with *.mp3 audio worked for me YESTERDAY. (I have proof on my YouTube channel!) What am I doing now that is different? Please help me if I am missing something very simple.

I'm assuming no one else has had this problem with *.mov exports. Can anyone please offer suggestions? I checked the levels in AS to make sure the sound was up. Are there other settings I can check?

Again, as there is no volume slider when I play the file in a media player, I think there must be something telling AS to export video only instead of with sound. I haven't been able to find such an option, but perhaps I am blind. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

This might not be the answer your looking for but this happens to me when I render any time other than from frame 1. If I have an audio file in a project and render from frame 1 then use the same file later on for a different scene; for example render from frame 24-72, I also get no sound. My guess is that maybe the sound was imported on frame 1 and like a vector or image layer you can see it while working on the project but it wont be rendered. One of the forum pros will have to answer if my guess could be the problem.

This is just something that happens to me, and may not help you any at all.

Wow; that was it! Thanks for the reply! I was rendering different lines separately and placing them into Final Cut in order, but I guess I'll have to just render the entire thing and split the clips up in FC after rendering. I don't think it takes any more or less time this way, it's just different than what I was doing before.
