AS7 make use of multi-core for rendering?

This thing says it has 6 cores, would AS7 render frames like hot grease through a duck? (Serious question)

I have seen render on 2, 3 and 4 cores. It's fast, seriously.

Awesome, thanks Selgin.
I just want to confirm - AS7 actually makes use of the multiple cores, rendering significantly faster on multi-core machines than earlier releases of the software? Is that the case?
I just want to be very clear that the reasons I want to go down this road are true.

Yes, it's much faster. I work in an ibm tablet with 1 core. For huge renders, I send the anme file to a 4 cores machine (using gather media, another new feature). It's incredible faster, I haven't measure it, but it's really evident.

How it works?

When rendering, instead of one loading bar, you will see 2, 3, 4 or as many bars as cores you have, all them advancing independently.

Lol, I mean the gather media stuff!

It's similar to save as menu. You chose in which folder you want to save it, and it creates the anme file and different folders for each resource (images, sounds, videos, scripts...).
To move it, you take the anme file and all folders created.

I was unaware that AS7 could render at more than 4 cores.

I haven't tested on a more cores computer, so I don't know if there is a limit.

thanks selgin,
This interest me as I am in the market for a new machine so I can render faster and if 4 cores is the limit then I will buy the best 4 core I can get but if there is no limit I might go crazy and spend a hefty sum on a 5-6-7-8 or more core.
Anyone test this yet?

It will only use up to 4 cores. I have an 8 core machine, and it still only uses 4 cores. It renders much faster than ASP6.

Thanks yep I saw that on SM site yesterday, up to 4 cores only. I have more research to do
