Consolidate layer and all inside

Hi, I think there is a feature which could solve the problem of moving keyframes on different layers for a character. If you have a character with several layers and channels animated it becomes very tedious to adjust a movement.
It could be solved with a keyboard shortcut to consolidate/unconsolidate layer keyframes, but not like in current consolidate keyframes (which shows you the consolidated channels of only one layer at the time), but in a way it shows the channels of the bone/group/switch layer and all its children layers. Everything in only one channel.
Then, once you adjust your animation, you press the shortcut again to unconsolidate the layers' channels and continue working normally.
I think that would be fantastic, what do you think?
