When I export to a .avi file, the image gets very choppy and the audio doesn't sync correctly with the visual. Anyone else experience anything like this and any suggestions?

Yes, happens to every AVI I export from AS. My problem is my PC is old and slow but I trust that after I export from my movie editor it all syncs up perfect.

Try a few 10 second animations with a sound track and a simple mouth, sync it and export as AVI then toss it in an editor and save as something you would normally use like WMV or FLV or w/e you prefer and see if it all syncs right; It should.

the export is fine. Just the file is so big that your computer has trouble streaming all that data through at the right synch. So, all the information's there. Just, the playback is rough. You could try exporting as a .MOV instead of .AVI and use a codec like H.264 or Sorenson Video 3 to make file sizes smaller and make streaming back easier for your computer.

Don't worry. Many people encounter this baffling issue, including me until someone explained that its the file size.

I am an amateur so most every thing I use is free ware or comes with windows. So I just use Windows Movie Maker for final cuts and piecing all the scenes together and I use VirtualDub to do some editing before I send it to WMM.
