I had a group for the head of my character. I had the eyes and lids under another masking group within. I'm tryed to add a bone to the head but I had no option to manuialy bind points. I tryed binding layer with the group selected but still no go
So I took all the parts out of the group so they would bind. And now the masking group Im using for my Eyes also gives me no option to manualy bind points. I have my character at
http://www.mediafire.com/?v7wi2ybktus4blb
Its called BoneHead.anme. Why cant I manualy bind points of contents of groups?

Thanks

Select HeadMain layer and under Bone menu click Flexi-Bind Points. EyeMask layer attach on head bone with Bind Layer tool.

This has been an issue with me as well. It seems that layers in a group can only be bound to the single bone the group layer is bound to.

For example, If you have a arm, lower and upper, and you bind them to their corresponding bones and they work just fine. Then you decide you need them in a group for some reason. They will lose their bind and it seems you are left with one option; bind the group layer to either the lower or upper arm which does not animate well.

There may be an option that allows this kind of binding, We'll have to see what replies you get to this post.

You can use a bone layer instead of a group layer, so you'll have a chance to have several bones for the several layers inside the group.

Thanks for your responce.

Attaching the head worked. But when I selected the EyeMask layer and clicked bind layer in the bones section, It clicked ok but the eye layer still wont move with the head bone. The only way I can move em, is if I remove the layers from the group. Then I loose my eyelid masking.

Again, thanks for your help

Im real new at AS7. So your saying a bone layer and a group are the same thing? Aside from bone creation I assume?

Thanks for your help. I wish I knew what you did, but you did it.

This program kicks. I just have to learn some drawing basics. Even tho I can see how a character is drawn in a 30 degree or so angle for walking and running, Actualy drawing it is the hardest for me. If it wasnt for this program, I gave up on it years ago. I'm creating this character, and others, for a 2D video game I'm writing. Thats whay the character is so small.

Anyway, thanksd for your assistance. Mucho appreciated.

I deleted the torso and added a neck, moved some points around the inside knee, redid all the point and layer bindings, moved the fore arms in-front of the hand layers and redid the invisible line for that joint, deleted 2-3 bones that were not needed, added bones to the right arm and leg, did a lot of tweaking point curves, added bone constraints, and some other things I can not remember at the moment.

Take a close look at it and it might give you a better understanding of binding. Click on the bones and it will show you what points are bound to that bone.
