collaboration?

I know this has been brought up and fizzled out many times before, but hey! How about a collaboration just for grins. One person could provide an AS5 vector based character and then everyone who felt like it could provide a little piece of animation with that character. Then we could somehow string it together. Thoughts?

I think it could work if the character is well designed and rigged. Sadly, I have not AS5 anymore here and really don't want to come back to that version.

The reason I suggested version 5 is so that everyone could participate. I still have version 5 and could come up with a character, but I couldn't promise that everyone would love the character or the way I rig. :)

Why dont you get v6, its much better.
I like your iniciative but i expected something bigger, i think something big can be really exciting but the bad thing about it is that not too many people here will be willing to do a lot of struggle just for free.

I usually use version 7.1, but I also kept version 5. Do you have an idea for a bigger collaboration? I might be interested in something bigger, but I thought a small project would be fun because people wouldn't be sacrificing a lot of time away from their own projects.

Yes, im thinking of something really interesting and would require of all the nesesary skills for a good animation, BG art, character animation, music, voice, sound, screenplay, ect.
Something that the most skilled people here in this community could do together.

I think the first idea is good. We can't think in something too big for the forum. Each one here has his own big projects. Animate a character seems interesting to me.
Maybe we could make a character and a prop, like a ball or something else. And give him a mood. It would be fun how we could develop different personalities using the same elements. After all, animation is all about that, isn't it?

Yes, i think you are right, something small is better.

I would like to be in. As I am not an artist or an animator but I am pretty good at audio and voice acting.

I was thinking of something similare these days.
Everyone knows about 11 second monthly competitions, they provide an audio source and you have to make animation with it...would be cool to make an AS team and entry just for fun. What do you think?

I propose a simple character, like this (I took it from Animated Performance book). It can be easily animated and is very flexible, you can even play with full body turns.
