Wow - I like it.
(Maybe the pond should be rounder as well?)

Parker, was the "Night Country picture inspired by the opening background of "Cluckie the Vampire Chicken," the Nickolodeon cartoon on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyF3JaV7bE0 ???
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but if you are copying someone else's work to that extent, it's just considered "good ettiquette" to at least acknowledge and credit where your inspiration came from, since the original artist did the majority of the compositional work...

Yes, my major inspiration here is obviusly Cluckie the vampire chicken.
I knew that Freakishkids made those BGs with another software, i think it was Combustion or something like that so i just wanted to prove that there is no need to use other softwares when you want to make your own BGs, just use AS, its perfect for the task.
Well the first one is very similar to the one of the show, as i said before i just wanted to prove that you can really do those beatiful BGs in AS.
The night country was my first time at trying to make the CVC style in AS so thats why its so similar.
Yet you have to have in count some differences here, especially in the moon and the clouds.
My clouds are glowing, CVCs clouds have no glowing at all.
The moon i made has texture, and also some white lines sorrounding it, CVC doenst, also i made some grass and the only plants you see on the show are only tall trees and bushes.

I agree with you but not totally i dont think we can say the same thing with my second BG, the corral.
At the end you interpreted things well, this is my way not only to prove ASs capabilities but is my way to express my respect and admiration to the work of the ones in charge of the BG art of this fantastic show, Stu Gamble and Miklos Weigert.

Excellent work Parker... but I feel strangely violated. Ha ha. I hope you dig into this further and research some more. A lot of work was put into the art direction. Take a look on the FK site at the pre production artwork. This is a tiny portion of what was produced to nail down the look and palette of the show. So don't just look at the surface, dig deeper and get into composition and colour theory. These are extremely well done though. Hats off to you.

Well, Knunck, now that you've seen Parker's excellent homage to you and VC, please tell us, what software DO you use, and do you use Anime Studio for any of your animations?

That i know and i know some because i a read a lot about this guys on the web, they use a lot of AS to create their animations.
90% of the animation of La reine soleil was done with AS.
CVC was done with AS and Flash and if im not wrong BG art was done with Combustion??
