How to make water in moho?

Can somebody tell me how to animate some water....
if you trie to make these special effects, you shouldn't think wwater, you should think 'what should it look like?'.
water can be like a miror, like smoke, it can be pitchblack, it can be almost any colour, etc.
if you can discribe what you need i like to think along. ( and maybe you should also describe the atmosphere and feeling about the water; important!)
