I did a demo of how I made a nice fire effect using particles. I forgot to add in the vid that I had applied shading and soft edge effects to the particle shapes. I think it's an interesting way to use particles.

Looks good, thanks for posting it.
Do you have a final render clip you want to show? I'd like to see it.

I used the effect in both of these videos. The render I did from the demo wasn't up to snuff quality wise, so I went to re-render it and found I had overwrote the AS file with the smoke effect file I used with it. :(
anyway , here's some earlier tests of the effect.

I woke up this morning and decided to check the LM forum and it looks like it has more spam than the State of Hawaii. 10 spams 4 real post.

BTW nice fire technique!

You are welcome.
Don't worry, it's not too much work to erase the spam. Anyway, I think the best is just ignore them. If you see spam, be sure it will be erased soon. Think there are many spam you don't even quite see.
If you see too much spam and no one erasing it soon, write me or Belgarath directly, via PM or email.

Thanks for the vid. Info on particles seem to be hard to come by. Or at least to see how to use them in action.

Hello Jonbo,

I realize that this is an old thread, but since it has been bumped by Seyrse, I felt it was a good opportunity to let you know that I added your YouTube channel to the Anime Studio Toolbar and Website (found in my sig).

I have found that your tutorials explain things very well, so I thought it only fitting that it be included.

Thanks for all the work you do to help out us new folk!!

Thank you,
Joe
