Light/Dark shift in clips edited in Final Cut Pro

Today I was updating a video that I originally created about a year ago with Anime Studio Debut 6 and edited in Final Cut Pro.

I added some new animation clips and dialog, and when I rendered everything in Final Cut, I noticed that some of the animation clips suddenly shift lighter or darker, depending on what's happening in the scene.

For instance, I have one scene where a moving van pulls out of frame. When the van leaves the frame, the clip gets darker. In another clip, one of the characters waves his arms and the clip gets lighter.

This is really bizarre, and I haven't been able to come up with any explanation for it. I assume it's gamma related somehow - the clips are created on a PC and the movie is edited on a Mac - but why this is happening in the middle of clips and coinciding with the action in the scene really baffles me.

Has anybody encountered this before?

UPDATE: Well, this turned out to be a non-issue that probably had more to do with Final Cut than AS. I replaced the affected clips in the Final Cut timeline and re-rendered everything and the problem went away.

But at least this is here for future reference for anybody else that might encounter the same problem...
