Howdy all, pleased to meet you.

never used this software before and struggling. Brand new today have only used Toon Boom studio before.

First problem is bones - I have drawn a character (standing in profile)

but when I click to add bones the bones are all invisible ie I can't see where I'm putting them - no lines appear at all.
The bone layer is at the top - the 'visible' box is checked and all the other layers have been selected and dragged into it as per the tutorial.

So thats problem 1 - problem 2 is there no eraser tool? you know like a rubber so you can correct your lines with out it deleting entire areas?

3: I also get a message in library that my IE or flash player are not up to date which they are - I don't think I can select 'use old library' as I don't have an old library to select?

The version of IE and flash the link in library directs me to is actualy older than the ones I have installed - does the programme need an update?

I am like well baffled and sad hope some one can help.
Thanks Arwen

Welcome to the forum!

1) At the bottom right of the main window, next to the display quality button, there's a check box that if unchecked will hide construction curves (bones, non-filled shapes etc). Make sure it is checked.

2) No, the drawings work a little different in this program. You can correct your lines by dragging the control points with the translate points tool. It will probably take some getting used to but it's great for interpolated animation.

3) Someone else on the forum hade the same problem, it might be a bug. But selecting old library should work. Old only means that it's in the same style as older versions of Anime Studio, not old as in a previously created library.

Hope things work out for you!

Thanks so much for the speedy reply. What a relief.

All Ok now!

I'm not finding ASP all that easy to use - as I'm used to drawing everything frame by frame ( not that I'm fantastic or experienced at that either  ) but we're only talking about 3 hours experience! So I guess I'll get used to it.

Good to know there's help to hand

Try this. Use the add point tool and draw just and outline. Keep it simple. Next move the points, say 24 frames, to a new key-frame. Now you have instant animation.

But it gets better. Now draw something more elaborate. Copy it and place both into a switch layer. Why copy? because you need the same amount of points and they are labeled even if you don't see it. (make sense once your done) Now change your copy to a different key. If the first layer is looking forward you might want to have it looking at a 45, or something. Next change the switch layer from layer one to layer two somewhere on the time line and play.

So you got one layer changing to another but it snaps or changes instantly. Now change the switch layer proprieties in the last tap to the right to interpolate sub layers and play again.

Now go to the manual and read it. You will learn more from it than anything else. Ya it doesn't make sense at first, but before asking questions on the forum, search it first Please.

I hope this helps.
