I made a character for an animation that i've decided that i want to begin. I wanted to test the lip sync and bone rig to see how it would be with him in motion. tell me what you guys think. any feedback is definitely appreciated.

Looks like you're off to a great start. Just a few tips...
There is a lot of noise in the sound that can be easily cleaned up In your sound editor. Other than that just clean up(missing lines etc) some of the joints on the character.

thanks!! yeah, i'm trying to work on the line issue. but, hmmm... i cant seem to really figure it out... when i put too much line, it looks too exposed... kind of clunky. but when i use less line, i'm left with these gaps. so, i'm trying to figure it out. but, i sometimes i wonder if its worth the effort since its going to be a more mature animation anyway... *shrugs* i dont know. feedback would be great.

oh, and which sound editors do you recommend? i'm more familiar with graphic design programs. i have the adobe suite. but i've never had need to use anything for sound. this is my first animation.

It always makes me giggle when people pronounce their own work awesome

although I've a feeling it may be lost in translation.
This is deffinately a good start! If anything i would add slight body movement, and maybe don't tilt your head backgwards quite so far.
You might consider constructing your limbs like this:

as far as audio editing, the free option most people like is 'audacity'

As funks said, Audacity is free and can do about every thing a hobbyist will ever need to do with sound. I would suggest getting the latest beta version though. Its noise removal filter is far and above better than the last stable version and I have not had lick of trouble with the beta version. Make sure you download it from Audacity and not some 3rd party site.
For your joints, It just takes practice. What I can see from your character is maybe your could bind the points that are at the wrist to the lower arm bone.
There is also the Mandcon's rig that a lot swear by and I use it on just about every character I make.
