Sorry, i know this is a very basic concept, i think did it in past versions (version 6 i think) with the paint tool, in first keyframe, i fill it with a color, then in another keyframe, i fill it with with the same color, but this time changing the alfa properties, it generates an animation of gradual transparency, but i didn't find it how to do that in Anime studio 8, and i don't found anyone who posted something so simple like this.

Thanks if anyone tell me how to do this basic concept.

you can animate a layers opacity % on the general tab of the layer.

alternatively if you cant do the whole level then you can change a shapes alpha. Press 'Q', select the shape, click on the fill color, change alpha... if you dont have a stroke else you'll need to do that to.

Gradual visibility

I'm a total newbie here . . .

I used the Trace function on a multi-shape drawing. I want each shape to gradually appear over time until the entire drawing is visible.

Should each shape occupy its own layer?

How do I animate visibility?

First you turn on allow animated layer effects for the layer you want to animate by double clicking it and openning the layer property window.

Then you set the opacity of the layer at a specific frame, say 0% at frame 1.

Then you go to the next frame and set the new opacity, say 100% at frame 24.

Opacity will only show in final render.

Here is a sample file, asp 6.2

Sorry, but I must be missing something . . .

When I play the file, the circle goes red from frame one on.

I have a sample with a shape with "fill color" and "selected fill color" at, say frame 20. It results in a shape the same color as the background which slowly becomes visible.

My only problem is I don't know how I did it, so I can't duplicate the results!!

Grrrr (and, not in a good way) . . .

Thank you, Gilles . . . here's the link:

Layer 1 is just a rectangular black background;

bitmap knot is the artwork I traced;

the remaining layers allow a single shape to appear every 10 frames;

I stopped at Traced level 6 because I couldn't get the individual shapes in subsequent levels to fill-in (I got no paint bucket for 'em).

I really appreciate your help in this matter . . . earlier, I took a look at your blog: I really liked it. I almost tried this project with masks, but thought I'd get lost.

Have a go at the mask tutorial, it is very basic and easy to follow, masks are very powerfull in AS, working on a follow up at the moment, more on masks.

Hello, Gilles!!

Would you like to see what I came up with?? Here's the link:

http://www.mediafire.com/?t4m316aa44a9ay6 (I'd appreciate any comments or feedback you care to give.)

I should probably add some titles at the beginning and credits at the end. For all that work, it seems too short . . . I'd like to extend it a bit. I have another coloring pathway in mind, too (if I wanna color one piece in each of the three colors should they still remain on separate layers??).

Anyway, thanks for all your help!! I really appreciate it!!
