AS Debut 7 Startup Crash - SOLVED

OLD:

"I've looked everywhere for a possible fix. So now I'm here to see if maybe someone has an answer.

I just got AS Debut 7 to try it out. And unfortunately, when I start the program, it gets to the point of loading the preset scene that it starts with, the entire program either fades half-white or goes completely white, except a med-sized box in the middle where it seems like maybe a pop-up type thing is coming up. Knowing from other software, I'd say it's one of the "Welcome to!" type pop screens. But the screen just doesn't load. Nothing happens if I leave it alone, and once I click it tells me it has stopped responding and must close.

Windows is telling me it's a Data Execution Prevention problem which I've tried to solve system-side however, it doesn't allow me to bypass the DEP settings on AS 7.

The only other thing I can figure is that for whatever reason my system can't handle this program. Which no, it's not a top notch system, but I do run higher-grade imaging and development programs on this, along with a few high graphic games that seems to run fine.

I have a Laptop, with Windows Vista, 32bit, 2.2GHz, 2gb of ram, and plenty of hard drive space.

I've even tried to search for a variable bypass on a welcome splash screen of any type I could find, setting wise, in the files of the program, but no luck there either.

Thanks for any help."

***** FIX (?) *****

Quick Review:
- Uninstall AS D 7
- Update Your EI as to the newest you can
- Reinstall, entering your Serial in Caps (It didn't work with the lowercase the first time I reinstalled- or rather said I was in demo mode still)

After much searching around and playing around with stuff. I did a lot of different things, but when it all boils down to it, I believe it was going to be an IE Version issue. Although I did not have a beta version, I had an semi-older version. I updated it and now it's loading and working fine.

And it was a little pop-up that was freezing it. When you first load the program that box pops up and has info about the program, and you can click "never show this again" That's the part that was freezing it up - For whatever reason.

Thanks everyone for your help! And I hope this may help someone else.

Have you tried turning off the start-up file in the preferences?

Maybe you need a fresh install of Windows, I do one of those every six months, need it or not! :)

I do the same every so often, it's a relatively newer install. I would think that would be it, but everything else runs great on my system.

And I'm not sure what you mean by turning off the startup file. Earlier I did Delete the file that was in the "Startup" folder, and that just made it where there was no pro-loaded scene that tried to load. All that seems to be working fine. It's just the pop up thing that is crashing the program.

Is that what you are talking about?

Yes, that was the start-up scene, you could just have gone in preferences and turn it off there.

I never actually deleted the file under 7/8, have you checked in the preferences, maybe it is still selected there and it tries to load it, although I doubt it it might, just might be that!

The problem is, I can't get into the program. And I don't see another external settings exe of any kind anywhere in it's directories.

Here is a snap shot of where it gets. It's right after I select either "Beginner Mode / Standard Mode"

go to your recycle bin and undelete the startup file.

If you can get the program to start, before you do anything, go to preferences and choose the use old library option. The new library has a search function that has a bug that causes crashes and beginner mode uses this feature so don't choose that option yet. Close the program out and re-open it and go back to the new library option. This has worked before for some.

Still the same, haha, Is there a way to bypass the welcome screen that anyone knows about, without going into the settings after the program has started? Maybe a command line or something?

And I cannot select anything, it fades out and freezes right after everything loads. And it's in both modes.

Cant see a thing on that image, too small.

Do as Sven said, or copy any .anme file that came with ASD into the folder.

I can't get into any preferences on the program, flash is working fine on everything else too. I even ran a debugger on it. Nothin', it's just complaining about the DEP still. Maybe a bad disk? I've tried reinstalling and updating everything.

New Bigger Image is loaded.
