Can anyone suggest a quick method of making a character crumble or disovle into bits?
I've been working on a TVC for hours and I am monitor brain dead!!!

Maybe I should go have some sugar

Thanks for any help

AS is not really suited for this task - usually this is done in 3D programs with lots of particles.

But why not use something simple like this: put your character into a mask setup. Put lots of lines into the mask, but first outside the character. Then place them inside the character as if cracks open. At the end, switch from the character layer to one with only bits and move them apart.

Hi Slowtiger. Yes...I might give that a shot, maybe even a quick experiment with particle masking?

Cheers

Hehehe...thanks Genete. Synfig does it again. Can you control the gravity of the dissolve? ie, Particles travel downwards?

No. It is a noise distort effect, I can control only the size of the distort (how small are the particles) and how much they get apart. I animated only the distance and kept the size constant (1 pixel).

I think that the disolve effect has been covered before in this forum... Don't remember where but I swear it has been.
