Show opacity for an image while drawing? Not in preview..

If I want to build a character of myself off of a photo of me, is there a way to show image opacity while I am creating my vector layers and not just show opacity of image in the preview screen??

Often times it is hard to draw with the under image at 100%, I changed it to 20% and messed with all the display quality buttons and check marks but nothing I do will make it show the opacity of the image unless I render it :(...

Do I have to go into photoshop and reduce the opacity of the image, save it, and then import it into anime? Or am I missing an obvious setting that will allow me to see the reduced transparency while I am working on the layers above the picture?...

Thanks :)

Put a vector layer between your image and what you are tracing. Make a white rectangle in this layer which covers the whole frame, with an alpha value. (or you can change the layer transparency). Now you have an image whose opacity you can control.

Create a vector layer and put it directly over the image layer. Then draw a big white rectangle on it and reduce the opacity of that layer (you also can reduce the opacity of the rectangle shape).
Sometimes black is better than white, it depends of your image.

Have you tried ctrl+y to select your image you want to trace, this will bring it in with the opacity down around 50%, ctrl+u will hide/un-hide the image.

Thanks!!! :D
