Adding credits

Perhaps a silly question, but I've followed the instructions for adding credits at the end of the animation, and have gotten a lot of gibberish. It's not clear in the manual, so I have to ask: Does the timeline have to be set at 0 (tried it, doesn't work) or at the point you want the credits to begin (tried it, doesn't work). I put the credits in the plain text format and "uploaded" the file when asked. I anyone can give me better instructions, I thank you in advance.

The zero frame never renders, it is for set up only. Most setup and drawing tools disappeared on frame one or more.

There are many ways to add credits. You could put them as vector text and let them scroll up or down. You could have them in a raster image format of jpg or png. But I wouldn't include them in the AS animation that your working on.

Treat AS as an animation only program, not an all in one, do anything. Animate short clips and put them together into a video editing program. Then add you credits there.

What video editing program and how to use them for the best quality has been covered in other threads in this forum.

Thank you, Dale

Good advice. I'll try your suggestions. (When the manual says it'll roll credits - I kind of take their word for it.) But by using a video editor (Final Cut Express I use quite well - wonder if that'll work), would make things much easier. I was going to just use the add text tool, but I haven't been able to figure out how to make more than one line on one layer. (Hitting return just puts the one line of text up.) Guess I'll just have to keep playing around with it. Thanks again. As I said, I'll try your suggestions.
