Hi
Rigged character, available for download at ....
http://www.contentparadise.com/productD ... x?id=20648
Just a warning, this isn't exactly a well-planned bone system. Any kind of extreme movement will make the character distorted.
Later,
Pottsie

Thanks! I'm always interested in how others rig their characters.

No problem. Hopefully more to come. The rig was just thrown together, but, I figure it would give some people a starting point.
Take care

Very cool character! I am sure someone will find it useful. I think that is cool that you would offer that up for free. It is rewarding to have others use your creations in their projects. I have had models of mine show up in a few different projects, and it feels good to know you have helped someone. Great Job!

I would be embarrassed to show my Riggs... at least the arrangement. Some of the switch layers, and extra bones get very busy. I hate trying to animate "extra" bones that are attached to the same model. Like a cape, hair (bone) parented to the body... something to that effect. I would love to keep all bones in one skeleton, but that can be busy too. Does anyone know of a tutorial that shows how to do "control bones"?, I have seen riggs that have outside levers to move bones. I would find that very useful!

Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Yeah, you can plan on seeing more freebies. Here's the thing. It's my belief that if you're going to sell stuff on contentparadise, make it worth the buck. There's some good stuff on there, but a lot of crap too, to be completely honest. Why would I pay 2$ for a file download of a basketball? Seriously?! When somebody can just Google search a basketball, and trace over it. I mean...let's get real, here.
I fully intend to put effort into anything I'm pitching. I do have a 2$ download of a background that I'll probably being setting at 0$ here soon. I did put a good amount of time into it. But I figured, what the hell. See how many hits I get. A man's gotta eat.
I really want to give people the most for their cash. Hopefully, if this takes off for me, you'll see a lot more. It's my goal to upload files on a regular basis. And if you see a price attached, you'd better believe it'll be worth it.

I agree... I just had this conversation with my writer. It's been a tough world for the Artist. This day and age people expect it's their right to get material for free on the internet. The fact is an Artist "should" get paid for their efforts. I struggled with this when I released my first video for "Eve of October". I had friends suggest that I release it for free. I really wanted to do that, because I want people to know about my work. but giving something away for free is excepting that your work is not good enough. Small projects, being produced as a gift to the community I support. I think that's a work of charity, and I admire that!... I pay my voice actors, and writer the best I can, because creativity needs to be supported. Someday that will come back to me. right now I'm struggling to get this film out there. Wow... I went on a rant. Anyhow I can't wait to see what other stuff you come up with. You have any anime links?

Yup! By "anime links", I'm assuming you just mean art/animation links in general. The first vid is a cottage scene that I have available on CP for download. The 2nd vid is a running cycle, done in Flash. I'll probably try to redo in Anime Studio.
Oh, and I checked out your "Eve of October"....that's great stuff, man. Quality.

And by the way, I also agree with what you had to say about the rights and state of affairs for artists in todays age. Believe me, I could go on forever. Creativity truly does need to be supported.

Very Cool! Loved both pieces! The Cottage looks great, and the running man as well. Hope to see more.

Hothead, I'm very impressed you were able to take my terrible rig and make it work.
I'd like to see your work with better executed rigs. Stay tuned. I'll hopefully have another upload (free) this weeked. Oh, and if you want to purchase my other file, that will help too

Kidding.

I didn't go to art school either. Don't let the fact that you didn't go to art school stop you from self-educating. There are plenty of resources on the web.
www.conceptart.org is fantastic.
