i've only had anime studio debut for 2 days---i'm doing pretty good with it but i'm stuck now---i got my character walking left to right for 20 frames---then i advanced the red timeline to frame 40, and raised him up, like he jumped up---so all that works, but i want him to stay up, (like hes going to change a light bulb or something)---but when i play it, the character starts coming back down very slowly at frame 41, and keeps coming down all the way to frame 0-----------hows he going to change a light bulb if he wont stay up there!!!???

How does it get from frame 41 to frame zero?

If you want him to stay up for 100 frames you need to add another keyframe of him up at frame 140 otherwise he will slowly animate back down to a keyframe you've placed of him in that pose. That's the way computer animation works.

"infocentral" replied to my original post with
"How does it get from frame 41 to frame zero?"----
well, i plan for the animation to about 200 frames long, so i set the final frame at 200, i place the guy at his starting point at frame 0, make him walk for frames 0 thru 20, make him jump frames 20 thru 40, then i hit the "play" button and he slowly descends from his jump from frames 40 thru 200--i dont want him to descend-----thank u, mike

"If you want him to stay up for 100 frames you need to add another keyframe of him up at frame 140"
thnx amiga, could you be specific?--i'm kinda new to this----ok, i got him up at frame 40, i want him to stay up there fixing a light bulb or something from frame 40 thru 80, so i advance the red timeline at the bottom to frame 80, so i can make him change the lightbulb during frames 40 thru 80---but as i advance the red timeline to frame 80,he starts dropping down--i dont want him to drop down-----could you give me a step by step on what to do? could you tell me how a keyframe is made?

There's a manual with the software. Please take the time and do the basic tutorials first.
wait a minute.....

You got it. You can copy your keyframes from frame 40 to frame 80 or whatever.
As Slowtiger says you'd be much better completing the tutorials first. They are fun and don't take long. You will know all the basics then. Try it

ahhh haa

yes, thanks............like i said, only had the program for 3 days now........of course i've been reading the 300-page manual, and learned several things from it, but i found out a long time ago, you can usually get a better, faster answer from the knowlegable people on a forum, then you can get from a manual...........i been making animations for years on the old ulead 3d and gif animator programs, but my new anime studio program is very different from those old programs..............ok, thanks, i'm sure you'll hear from me again when i get stuck again.. ha ha--
