Hi there Community!

This is my very short-animation "heroic" for a swiss 10sec Animation
Contest. It's quite dark and optimised for a big cinema screen (first
price.. appearence on silver screens around the country). So imagine
yourself sitting near 2kg of Popcorn and a fat sweating critic right
before the feature film starts (bla bla bla).

Well done Karpi - a commentary on war? Either way the explosion caught me by surprise even without the sweating critic. ;)

I like the minimalist approach, very effective and funny!

First, thanks for including a Quicktime version. It's the only player I'm using right now on my Mac, and it doesn't do WMVs.

Second, I like the colors and design. And the animation.

Third, I don't get it. I'm guessing it's about a suicide bomber infiltrating a group of soldiers, but the talking guy's reaction to the explosion makes me think I'm wrong. I feel like I need a little more information on the screen, if I'm supposed to understand it.

Very nifty looking, though!

Nice work! I like the gritty style. You sure pack a lot into those 10 seconds (which is probably the point of the exercise... LOL)

Thanks!

Well, the idea was (it's terrible to tell this, like explaining a joke  ) that the enormous, bigheaded authority (the instructor) has his soldiers under control. If he barks, all men turn left, if he barks again they turn right, and so if he barks for a third time he has enough power to let them explode - on his command. He goes of like "an other job well done".

It's ment to be a metaphor for the pseudo-patriotic, military heroism:
In the end they're (the soldiers in war) not only destroying others, but mostly themselfs. Yeah, it's a moral, sorry. (A moral packed in absurdity)

And party on, Tony M! (Sorry, I couln't resist - Aurora - Wayne's World...)

Nope. It's "HA-RA! HA-RO! HA-RUMMM!". Allthough those many RRRs sound a little bit scottish

I dig it. I love the background painting.

10 seconds to get an idea across. Nicely done.

Ohhhhh!
It hadn't occured to me that the leader was to blame.
Now I get it. Thanks for explaining!
