Drop down menu bug

using winXP64 quad core cpu 8 gig of ram terabit HD
I load a anime file of a character that I made in version 8 and load it into version 9 and when I try to save it as a new file the drop down menu only flash for a sec and vanish.

My file has patch layer and action file in the character.

Not sure what it is in my version 8 file that makes it hard to save again in version 9. I have been able to use shortcut keys to save and render. even when importing a poser model the drop down menu is disable.
