how do insert animated .gif/.png ?
i saw someone on a video importing a sprite in anime studio
and the sprite immediately played
when i try to to import a sprite all i see is the first frame
and it can't be played
the only way it works for me is when i import them one by one
and seperate them on the timeline
but that's probably not how it's supposed to be

AS doesn't recognize animated GIFs and will only show/use the first frame.

so you're saying the video i have seen must be a hoax ?
i'll try to find the video
just to make sure
because if it does work like in the video it would save lots of time

They may have made the sequence in AS but used a photo editor ie Photoshop or GIMP to make the animated .gif like I did for the crying baby I use for my avatar on the forum.

A sprite can also be a sequence of images, which AS can import automatically via Scripts->Image->Import Image Sequence... The images will be put in a switch layer and keyframed on the timeline. The filenames need to be numbered sequentially for this work.
