Hey everyone. In this project I'm trying to do I'm working with Sprites from Super Metroid.
The Sprites are, obviously, 16-bit so they're pretty small. I tried to resize them in Anime Studio, and it just blured them.
Is there any way to make it stay sharp? Yes, I can resize the images outside of Anime Studio but if I can get it to work,
this is easier. This is the image I'm trying to use:

This is how it comes out:

Thanks for you help!
I'm using Anime Studio 9 Pro, BTW

Go to the image layer proprieties, image tab and check "Nearest neighbor sampling".
Also, in preferences you can check that by default for all the future imported images.

okay, I still need help with something kinda related. In the same image, some of the transparency won't work. Like, it works in any photo viewer, but then in Anime Studio it just registers some of the transparent parts as black. The strange part is, other transparent parts of the image work fine.

IN this case you need to open that image in Photoshop or Gimp and re-work the transparency.

I have. That's where I made the sprites/images in the first place. They show up as transparent in Image editing programs, but in Anime Studio parts of it are black.

Edit: *sigh* I got it to work. the images were like, messing with me because all of a sudden it let me erase the black spots, making look like an idiot on the internet, haha. Thanks for helping everyone.

he saw your topic,

i've got aprox. the same problem

i had a 32x42 sized .png image made in photoshop
i've imported it to anime studio
i did the ''nearest neighbour'' thing
but the size of the sprite is twice his normal size
it turned into aprox. 64x84 sized .png file

and since i'm working with gamemaker
i need that 32x42 size
wich was looking way better

You can prepare your bitmaps in Photoshop like this:
Scale your images up with "Nearest neighbour" option on, and only in increments like 2x, 4x, 10 or so. The image will look th same, but what was one pixel before will now be 10 x 10 px, saving AS the work to scale everything up extremely.
