Animated Band Flyer

Hello all,
I am a newbie with AS. Only been dabbling in it for a couple months. Started with something that I bit off way more than I could chew. So. took a step back to try something at a more manageable scale first. I got a lot to learn about the program and get past some of the walls with the drawing tools (personal issues with not having handles on vector points). Anyways, each day the clouds seem to clear a little more.

Here is the 3rd project I have done and it has some spots that could be refined, but it also has a expiration date. So, i am letting it fly.

Give me comments. I am working on this stuff by myself and It is a bit different to me than Flash was years ago when I was doing interactive projects for corporate america.

I liked it! Did you draw the character in AS? I loved the "detail" of the character. He looked so gnarly and hard core, I felt like I better buy a plane ticket and fly to AZ to see the show or else! :)

Like it. Also a very clever idea to advertise a concert like this. (It's in the line of doing animated trailers for books, which came up some years ago.)

My only quibble is that I'd like to see a more "punk" style to this - less different colours, more black & white, different fonts. Something more from the fanzines from the 80's ... oh well, my age shows.

Liked it too, very punchy dialogue, and nice drawings, good job!

Thanks for the comments.
@heyvern - yes, I did draw up the character in AS 9.5. The lettering was done in Photoshop but exported into PNG using Fireworks. For whatever reason PS wouldn't do a proper transparent PNG. Eps's out Illustrator all were shaky during playback without any animation on the words.

@slowtiger - I agree, but I wanted to keep this one on the Kustom Kulture vibe due to the venue is little more rockabilly than punk. I went with a Coop feel this time, but definitely more like Pettibone and Shawn Kerri on the next efforts. Maybe even a Pushead style since those were my inspirations back in the day.

Thanks again everyone. I am planning to revisit the first one I started which is suppose to be a music video for one of our songs. The A-bortz is the band I am in.

Nice animation and character design, perhaps just a wee bit too much crazy eye movement toward the end, but it was still effective and fun to watch!
