Is It Possible to Change a Whole Character's Colour?

Hello,

I'd assume you could do this via masking, but not sure how.
I'm only just learning about masking so I don't really know all the details, but from what I have seen it doesn't seem to be what I would like to do.

Is it possible for you to create a mask on a whole character? So I'd use this to change a whole character's colour without having to recolour each section. Would this be done via masking or is there another way to do this?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. c:

Styles would let you do large-scale fill changes pretty easily to change colors. If you're wanting the color change to be animated you could combine different layers with different styles in a switch layer. Both of these are covered pretty well in the tutorials.

1. Styles. This is by far the best method.

2. A simple method I use often to colour a whole character in one go with masking. It works best with black&white stuff with strong contrasts. The setup is like this:

- group (or bone) layer, masking set to hide all
- - vector layer with a large coloured shape, set to multiply
- - character top layer set to add to mask

See this example: http://www.slowtiger.de/examples/luftschiffe_bunt.mov It's only one blimp, but coloured differently with this method.
