Switch layer and frame by frame animation using a ready made(customized)dat file

For quick frame by frame animation I found an idea.The idea was to create a readymade.dat dat file ( in note pad and save with .dat extension)
and apply it to the switch layer instead of manually creating key frames. The process is like this



First create a vector layer
Draw artwork on this layer
Create a duplicate of this layer
alter the art work
create a duplicate of duplicate
alter the art work

and go on this process till we have enough layers

then creat a switch layer and put all vectors into it

then apply a ready made .dat file to the switch layer



Is it a good way...?
Is there any suggestion to improve this idea
