Front view walk cycle

This was a test to see if I could use a side view walk cycle to create a front view walk cycle. It appears you can. Bone rotation from the 'side view' can be represented in the 'front view' by scaling points. You still have to choose a 'vanishing point' for it to make sense but it works pretty well.
You'll see a few problems because I still have some stuff to learn. I don't know how to correct the 'sliding' effect yet. I'm working on it and open for suggestions. There are obvious glitches which I didn't catch before I posted it but I made this only for the forum. Please tell me what you think.

Looks good,

I think the slight floating effect might be lessened if you raised and lowered each leg slightly as they took their steps. I don't know if I'm explaining what I'm trying to say too well, but right now the legs are walking but not moving, if they went up and down a bit it would look more like they were actually taking steps. I like the shading effect, was that done with animating layers and fading them in and out of the cycle?

Little Yamori, The 'sliding' effect will take time for me to understand. I animated the 'ground' by translating the layer along the Z axis and cycling it. I don't know if I explained it well but the speed at which the 'ground' moved was only part of the problem.
Learning to animate is just plain fun. I actually hope I don't run out of problems to solve! :)
I made the shadows by filling shapes with soft edges set at 10. In the vector layers I clicked animate layer effects. I set opacity at 100 when the knee was bending and 0 when the leg was straight. For the final version I would rather have folds in the pants.

The leg movement worked well, something seemed a bit off in the way the feet moved though. I can't quite put my finger on it, it just looked "off."

Danimal, I agree, the foot movement is off. This walk cycle is not ready for prime time yet. In fact, I stopped working on the file for a couple of days. I needed to think and research. I'm going to study more video before I try again.
