Open a door at an angle

Hi
I want to animate a door opening but the scene has a view of the door at an angle rather than head on. I have tried setting the origin at the hinge side and rotating the layer but due to the angle, it doesn't open properly. Is there a way to adjust the origin point so it matches the angle of the door? I also tried the Perspective Points tool which seems to do almost the right thing, but the hinge edge doesn't remain in place, it shrinks and moves. Is there a way to have the Perspective Points tool adjust on an edge rather than the centre of the layer?
Thanks in advance for your help
Pete

I'd either rotate the layer, for which I first set the origin to the hinges (tool 0), or do point animation if the door is just 1 shape. It helps to have a sketch wih two ellipses for the latter, to show the path.

Animating doors seems to be a common topic this days. You might want to check these recent threads for further study:
2d door like 3d
how do I open a door?
Is there any way to make something move faster?

Hi Guys
Thanks for your help, my problem is my scene view of the door is at an angle and not head on. I have looked at the other threads on here already but they all seem to be in relation to doors head on. If I just do the origin point for the hinges in my scene I get this:

However I have played about with a combination of the origin point, rotate layer, shear layer, scale layer and point translation and have got to this:

As you can see it still needs tweaking but it is closer to what I want. I just wondered if there was a technique/tool/tutorial that would make this action easier? I could of course simply cut the scene at the right point to a head on door view, but that would mean re-drawing scenes which I was trying to avoid if possible.
Cheers
Pete

I would just use point translations for this.

If it's only 3 seconds, could you do keyframes every 6 frames or so? Might be a quick way to pull it together.

Yes I think that is probably the best way. As you say, it's only 6 seconds so it won't take too long. Thanks for your advice
