hello guys,
i was wondering if it is possible to export a single frame or an entire animation with a transparent background.
I want to design some tshirts and for that purpose it would be nice to export a single frame/picture with a transparent background and maybe even as a vector.
is it possible to export an entire animation with a transparent background? had the idea to combine animatione maybe with some "real life" stuff.

You can export Quicktime>PNG>Millions colors

For a single image, you can render the frame and save as PNG instead of JPEG, gets saved with transparency afaik.
For an entire animation, as slow mentioned, export as a Quicktime movie using the .PNG codec, in the settings before export select 'Do not pre-multiply alpha channel' and if you have the option for the codec, choose 'Millions of Colors +' (the '+' denotes the alpha channel / transparency)

I know a lot of times people export their videos as image sequences, in order to work in some post-processing... but I'm curious what happens to the audio if someone does this?

If exported as images, there would be no audio. You'd need some kind of external video editor which you could then use to sync the video and audio back up.

If you export animation as image sequence, the sound will be exported as sheet music, of course.
