So I've always had AS render a .mov file, which I would then import into my video editor (powerdirector). Now I decided I want to try the preferred method of exporting PNG files. The problem I'm facing is I can't tell if the exitor is exporting in 29.97 fps or 30. (I seem to think its 29.97 but I'm still looking into it). My question is how much does that discrepancy really matter? It seems to me the main problem would be the audio would start to slip right? Or do other problems arise if its mismatched?

If I am reading you right and you are exporting from the AS Editor to PNGs - then the export is frame-by-frame. i.e. If you have 100 frames and 15 FPS it will export 100 PNGs. If you have 100 frames and 30 FPS it will still export 100 PNGs. i.e. So you would set your Video Editor to match the FPS in the AS File-Properties, prior to import for correct playback.
