how to hide control ponits in as 10

i changed something in as 10, maybe. i don t know. anyway last week i could work with the freehand tool and all Points were hidden as i liked to. by now i can uncheck auto-weld and auto-Close (as described anywhere) but the ponits appear. they also appear when i uncheck auto-stroke and auto-Close too. what can i do/Change to hide them again? (i ve a win 8 comp)
