Here is an animation I made, I made it to let people know that my animations and other videos are licensed under CC, so you can do almost anything you want with my video except sell it or claim it as your own.

Enjoy!

Er, I'm confused. All I can see is the "CC" logo spinning slowly around. Is this the 'animation' you are talking about?

I animated the logo myself, it's just a test.

The 3D quality looks good. I'd like to make one that says just the opposite though: "you can do nothing with this ever. I don't even like that you're watching it."

Ha! :)

Although, the copyright and creative commons licensing discussion is an interesting one to have, (though probably better suited for the general discussion forum)

I will say I find it particularly interesting, in part because the local animator who got Victor in to speak in our town is a HUGE anti-copyright, creative commons/"copyleft" advocate.

I can't say I stand firmly on one side or the other, but I think it's worthy of note that a lot of open discussion and file sharing occurs here in the forums, and I think it can be a wonderful learning tool when people are willing to provide techniques and experience without fear of creative theft, or incidental repercussions thereof. The fact that much of the growth of AS software seems to have come from the collaboration of users is pretty amazing regarding development...

I guess it all depends on whether or not someone expects a piece of the pie, or how big a piece, or if they made the pie, and wanted to share but seriously take it--because I can't eat another bite.

Anyway... :) The logo seems to be rotating quite well. I think I'm going to take that, change the C's to D's and use it for my logo. :D

It's actually pretty simple to create the animation, just put the letters "DD" inside a circle and then use the rotating feature, easy.

I am anti-copyright myself, I believe that copyright takes away everyone's freedom, if all media was free and copyleft, you could share that new episode of Family Guy without worrying about the Police knocking at your door, you wouldn't have to pay for the media you enjoy, the money could go to things you really need, such as food and water, and without copyright, fans would not have to worry about getting a cease and desist letter when they upload fan material.

If copyright didn't exist, the world would be a much better place to live, I think CC copyright licenses are the best because they give people freedom to do almost anything with your content legally without permission (except sell or claim as your own).

So go ahead, download my videos and edit it, just make sure you credit me for the animation and don't sell it, you have my permission.
